Ministry in Mission
Through the connectional system of the United Methodist Church, St. Paul's
is involved with literally hundreds of missions both locally and around
the world. Through Bishops' Appeals, Advance Specials and the United
Methodist Committee on Relief, St. Paul's also has the privilege and
opportunity to reach out in time of catastrophic need. In addition to
this wonderful benevolent arm of the United Methodist Church, St. Paul's
also offers the mission opportunities listed below.
Nursing Home Auxiliary
This is an outreach ministry of caring for the residents of St. Theresa's
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. There is a gathering for
work and preparation starting at 9:30am followed by a pot-luck lunch on
the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The group is at the nursing home on
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons offering assistance and companionship to
the residents.
Storehouse
Contact Ed or Joyce Mortimer for more information.
The Storehouse is a non-profit benevolent ministry to those less
fortunate in the Albuquerque area. Food, clothing, and other items of
critical need are distributed to persons throughout the year. Various
churches and other organizations donate to the on going supply of needed
items. St. Paul's actively supports this ministry by giving people the
opportunity to bring items to the church. The Storehouse then sends
people to gather the items and take them to their facility. Boxes are
located in the Narthex in the area surrounded by counters. There is a
box for food and a box for other items. Those who desire to bring items
can do so any time the building is open.
Project Share
Contact Lorraine Jordan for more information.
Project Share is a ministry that prepares and feeds meals to the
homeless of Albuquerque. St. Paul's supports this ministry in a variety
of ways. A team of people made up of people from both within St. Paul's
and outside of St. Paul's gather each 2nd Sunday of the month, prepares
a meal in our kitchen and then takes the meal to the Project Share
location and serves the homeless and, a times, spends time in fellowship
with those eating.

On the 3rd Sunday of every other month through the work of United Blood
Services, the marvelous people of St. Paul's have the opportunity to give of
their life giving blood. All are encouraged to consider this very worthy
gift. All it costs is a little time and perhaps a little sharp tinge as you
are "hooked up."
Inerfaith Hospitality Network - IHN
Contact Ed or Joyce Mortimer for more information.
St. Paul's provides housing and meals at no cost for working parents in need
of assistance. Churches of the Albuquerque area, on a rotating basis, host
families for a week at a time. Here at St. Paul's we are able to host
families about 6 times a year, with the help of many volunteers.

Because of the generous giving of the people at St. Paul's, primarily
through special donations during Holy Communion, we are in a position to
help the needy in a variety of ways.

Our hope and prayer is that each year the St. Paul's family will gather
together and go to a mission site and offer labor, fellowship, and love to
those in need. In past years we have gone to Mexico and the Alamo Navajo
Reservation.
