  • Spiritual Tools and Resources | Wesley hymn devotions for Lent and Easter

< Back Previous Wesley hymn devotions for Lent and Easter These devotions are based on Charles Wesley's hymns, which help us to think about God's grace through Christ's life, death and resurrection, as we journey through Lent and Easter. Easter and Lent are important seasons of spiritual reflection and growth. Lent, a period of 40 days leading up to Easter, is a time of repentance, prayer, and fasting as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ's resurrection. It is a time to focus on self-examination and drawing closer to God through acts of discipline and devotion. Easter, on the other hand, is a celebration of new life and hope in Christ, marking the culmination of the Lenten season. Through Lenten devotions such as prayer, fasting, and service, United Methodists seek to deepen their relationship with God and grow in faith, ultimately leading to a joyous celebration of resurrection on Easter Sunday.
